Rita's Makes Everything Better!
Maddie has had a cast on her foot for about three weeks. Her heel has been hurting her for several months. She went to the doctor and found out that she has something called Sever's disease. It really isn't a disease. It is more of a condition, something she will outgrow. She has two breaks in the growth plate of her heel. When her foot stops growing, when she is around 14 or 15 years old, she will not have this problem anymore. She has to make sure she stretches her heel/foot around three times a day. This should help with the pain she has been getting in her heel. The funny thing is that this condition happens a lot to boys and girls who play a lot of sports and are very active. It usually affects children who are 9 to 12 years old. In the picture Maddog is enjoying Rita's ice cream. I think Polly wants some too! Maddie's mom
