I save “good” trash and sort it into bins.
I take it to recycle and then I grin.
Here I am after sorting out a couple weeks of recycling.
To produce each week’s Sunday newspapers, 500,000 trees must be cut down.
Americans use 2,500,000 plastic bottles every hour! Most of them are thrown away!
The U.S. is the #1 trash-producing country in the world at 1,609 pounds per person per year. This means that 5% of the world’s people generate 40% of the world’s waste. An aluminum can that is thrown away will still be a can 500 years from now!
You can donate your gently worn clothing, sneakers, and shoes at most recycling centers. These items will help people in your community and around the world that don’t have adequate clothing and footwear. Isn’t it nice to know that you can clean out your closets and help someone else!
Did you know?
~Recycling plastic saves twice as much energy as burning it in an incinerator.
~A modern glass bottle would take 4000 years or more to decompose — and even longer if it’s in the landfill.
~A typical family consumes 182 gallons of soda, 29 gallons of juice, 104 gallons of milk, and 26
gallons of bottled water a year. That’s a lot of containers — make sure they’re recycled!
This Polly wants to be “green” on this planet for a long time. Help the planet Earth! Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.

People are going to really start noticing Polly #35…super frog! Not only does she travel to some amazing places, but she recycles too! Thanks for “going green” Polly #35. Our planet thanks you too! Your post was excellent. I really learned a lot about recycling. At our house, we recycle paper, cans, and plastic bottles, too. I wish everyone would realize that even little changes CAN make a big difference!
Go Green!
