Boy was it a long ride! We started toward Charleston, WV (the capital) around 5:00 p.m. and did not arrive there until the next day. We stopped and stayed at some friend’s house for the night. We had to get up early the next morning to get to the capital building on time. Even though we were in a hurry, the governor sure was not. We visited his house which is called the Governor’s Mansion. In the drawing room was a beautiful grand piano and I just had to play it, so Grace helped me. Finally the governor arrived and we were able to get a picture. It was an exciting trip but I sure am tired!

It’s a great adventure to visit the governor’s mansion. I hope I’ll be a lucky frog and be able to visit the mansion one day!

Gee Grace, that is Some Place!!!
Wow, what a fancy house, I guess that’s why it is called a mansion! Did Polly play the song “Polly Wally Doodle”

Grace,
Did Polly teach you how to play the piano, or did you teach her?

He seems like a very nice person, and I wish him luck in his new position as a Senator.
