Today Candee and Pierre celebrated their third wedding anniversary, so I planned a special surprise for them. Pierre loves anything to do with flight, so I knew going to the National Air and Space Museum would make the perfect gift. I’m not kidding when I say he loves flight–they got married in a helicopter–but that’s a whole other story!
I took them to the National Air and Space Museum-Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center which is located just a hop, skip, and a jump away from Dulles International Airport which is located in Chantilly, Virginia.
I didn’t tell them where we were going and that added to the fun! I gave them a few clues, and I must admit that Pierre figured it out. He said, “Are we going to a museum that’s filled with big aluminum birds?” I thought that was really funny!
Enjoy the show…

I like the video. It looks like you had a great time. I’d like to visit there myself sometime.

I’ve only been to the Air and Space museum in Washington, D.C. This one looks much bigger. Have you been to the one I am talking about, and if so, which do you like better?

Hi Aiden!!
Thanks for posting! It was so much fun seeing you at Martin’s the other day. We had a great time at the National Air and Space Museum. Have you ever been there? If you like planes…that’s the place to be! We did something really fun a few days ago. We went to Gravelly point which is right next to Reagan National Airport and we watched the planes land. Here’s the best part…they fly right over your head, and I mean right over your head! It’s so cool. I’ll be posting pictures and a video soon!
I hope you’re having a fun summer!
Love,
Polly #3 (and Mrs. Schneider too!)
