We were lucky enough to have this shop right across the street from our hotel!

Garrett’s Popcorn has been a household name in Chicago since they first opened in 1949. Only the highest quality ingredients are used, the kernels are hot air popped in old-fashioned copper kettles, and every batch is handmade daily. Because of this attention to quality, the lines to buy this irresistible product can be rather long. Don’t give up on your quest though, because the lines move fairly quickly, especially if you’re tempted to sample some of the delicious flavors as you wait. We were even lucky enough to see one of their staff members standing on the sidewalk, giving out samples to people as they walked by. Of course we had to indulge in a sample of this delectable treat.

One of the signature flavors of popcorn that they produce is called The Chicago Mix, and is a blend of their famous CaramelCrisp and CheeseCorn recipes. Other flavors that they provide year round are Plain, Buttery, Cashew CaramelCrisp, Almond CaramelCrisp, Pecan CaramelCrisp, and Macadamia CaramelCrisp. Occasionally they also offer seasonal flavors, and we were lucky enough to sample the chocolate covered CaramelCrisp when we visited.

There are many items besides popcorn to choose from

I can't decide, so I'll have one of each!

There are various locations of Garrett’s Popcorn throughout the Chicago area, so there’s really no excuse not to give it a try!

I couldn't resist hopping behind the counter to see how all that delicious popcorn was made!
