Polly #2 was quite pleasantly surprised when she came upon this cute little church on a drive through West Virginia. It is located in Horse Shoe Run in rural West Virginia, which is south of Deep Creek, MD on Rt. 219 at Silver Lake. It is a Roman Catholic Church. It is called “Our Lady of the Pines” and is able to seat 12 people. The outside of the church measures 24 feet x 12 feet and is surrounded by well maintained grounds in a very peaceful setting.

The church built by Lithuanian immigrant Peter Milkint is dedicated to his parents, himself, and his wife Elizabeth. Our Lady of the Pines was completed in 1958 and is still used for church services, but is most commonly used for wedding ceremonies. It offers the perfect backdrop for photos taken by wedding goers and tourists alike.
