Polly definitely thought it was too cold to be out in the snow on this day, but she and I both thought it was really pretty from inside in my nice, warm apartment room at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg. Polly and I were looking for the ducks which I have seen in the creek, but unfortunately Polly wasn’t able to see them for the first time today. It is rather cold for them, although they seemed to be fine floating around the ice the other day. I guess they really did go south this time. I’m sure Polly wanted to go along with them so that she could see all the sights along the Eastern Seaboard, but she’ll have to wait for another day, I suppose.
I’d really like to take Polly to the beautiful (and very dangerous) bridge that I cross over every day on my way to class, but she thinks I’ll be embarrassed whipping her out of my purse to take a picture in the middle of everyone trying to get to class, so I’ll have to wait for a day when no one is crossing the bridge to take her.
Someday I’d definitely like to take her along to somewhere other than western Pennsylvania, but maybe the next time I go to Vermont, she’d like to come along and have to Ben & Jerry’s from the place from which it originated.

Polly, be sure to wear a bib in Vermont. That Cherry Garcia ice cream is really messy! I hope you get outside soon, but for now the windowsill looks warm and cozy. In the meantime, keep looking for those ducks!

Brittany,
Thanks for your post. It’s nice to see that Polly #16 is making herself at home on campus. I can’t wait to see all the adventures she goes on with you.
PS I hope you’re not snowed in!

Polly in UPG

Looks like you’re taking good care of Polly. I’m glad she’s not afraid of ducks. I bet she’s in bed under the covers right now to avoid the snow. Don’t forget to bundle her up if you take her out? Give her a hug for us!

Candee is a friend of mine, and in the beginning Polly kind of embarrassed me too. We took a three day bike ride down the C&O Canal, and I lost count of how many times I told her to “put that silly frog away.” A few days later Candee and Debbie put together the article and pictures on the website.
For me, the C&O ride was the big event of 2009, and it is pretty cool to look at the pictures and the thoughts that Candee concocted. I think good ol’ Polly kind of represents the zaniness in life that lets people escape from the mundane. Good job on your first post! I think this website will make it big someday, and I guess we’ll all be part of it.
Now if I can just get Candee and Debbie to put the bike trip on the frog blog! It was warm and sunny last July, and I’m tired of seeing all of this snow!
