Polly & the Girls!

Polly danced a fabulous job at the 2010 Regional Irish Step dancing competition.

Lots and lots of medals!

Polly won a sash in the Bun Grad awards. She also had lots of fun hanging out with friends and even enjoyed wearing all the medals that she won.

Having Fun!

She really had a grand time. Polly also met some really nice friends. One girl named Riley and another named Maddy from The McGinley School of Irish Dance. She met two special friends from other Irish step dancing schools in Ohio. Polly hopes to see Hannah and Katie, who are the friends from Ohio, at the next Feile in July. Keep on dancing Polly. Bye Bye.

Maddie

Looking good on the podium!

  1. I forgot to ask you what a bun grad award is. Also, how long have you been doing this type of dance?

  2. Maddie,

I really liked your story and the pictures are great. You look very pretty. I love to watch Irish Step dancers and I may have to tag along with your Aunt Candee the next time she goes to watch you perform.

Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing the story of the competition with everyone. You should be very proud of all the awards you won.

  3. Congratulations on all of the awards you won! Very exciting…I’m proud of you!
    Love,
    Aunt Candee

    P.S.
The pictures are great! I need to come up for another performance soon!

  4. I like your pictures but I have a question. The dresses are very pretty but why are they all different?

  5. Dear Polly and Mad Dog~
Polly won all of the medals. Polly did a good job with dancing. Why doesn’t Polly have a costume? What do the boy costumes look like?

  6. Thank you so much for explaining what a bun grad is. I enjoyed learning about the dresses and levels also. Keep up the good work and I hope to see you dance one day.

  7. Great story Maddie. The competition was lots of fun and I think Polly enjoyed herself. It is so much fun looking at all the different dresses and meeting up with friends. Of course the medals are great too

  8. The Bungrad award is the first level of Irish dancing. There are five levels in Irish step dancing competitions. I have been dancing for six years.

  9. Polly does not have a costume because she is too small…LOL. The boy’s costumes in the McGinley School of Irish dance are blacks pants, a long black shirt and a orange cumberbund with the school’s embroidery on it

  10. The dresses are all different because each school has their own dress. Once a dancer places into the third level, Mean Grade, a dancer may wear her own solo dress that she can design herself or have someone make.
