This “Community Pride Project” is an attempt to preserve the apple capital city and surrounding areas of our Southern and Shenandoah Valley Heritage.
My God Bless Our Endeavors
When people ask me where I’m from, I love to say that I live near the “Big Apple”. Of course they think I mean New York City, and I reply, “No, Martinsburg, West Virginia and there really is a “big apple” in my town!”
Why an apple? My town and the surrounding areas are home to acres and acres of apple orchards, and apples are a very important crop for our local economy.

The historic B&O Railroad Roundhouse in Martinsburg, West Virginia is in the process of being restored. I’m glad I live in a community where people are willing to put so much time and effort into a project like this!
