While Polly #2 was waiting to board the Amtrak train at Union Station in Chicago, she wandered the nearby streets of Chicago, and chanced upon the French Market. The market is conveniently located in the commuter concourse of the Metra train station on North Clinton Street, so it’s at an ideal location to provide it’s wares to many people.

Some of the convenient tables scattered about the market

About 30 vendors are located there, and you can find everything from delicious food choices for meals, to flowers, gifts and more. The market came about as a way to not only support local farmers and artisans, but to also to provide a European inspired marketplace.

Some of the delicious products available

You can tell the vendors take pride in what they are providing

I found an authentic gelato stand at the market, and after sampling a few of the flavors, I settled on one of my favorites...pistachio!
