These lemons are bigger than me!
Some of the best lemons in Italy come from the Amalfi coast and Sorrento region. This area had evidence of cultivated lemon groves as far back as the 1st century around Sorrento, and from the 11th century around the Amalfi coast.
I never knew lemons could grow this big!
The Amalfi Coast lemons can reach the size of a grapefruit, have a strong scent, and a juicy sweet pulp. These lemons are used in making desserts, and are one of the key ingredients used in the production of limoncello. You can tell this lemon from other lemons because they are the only lemons picked with the stems on.
Sorrento lemons are elliptical in shape, have a medium thick aromatic skin with a straw yellow interior, and exceptional aroma and flavor.

I have one thing to say…..wow! Okay, I have more to say than that! I’ve never seen such a big lemon in my entire life. I really like the picture of the lemon stand. It looks bright and cheerful.

Your pictures are crazy. I can’t believe how big the lemons are. Polly looks little near them. Did she eat one of them? Did you or Polly try the lemon ice? Mrs. Schneider said she would like to try one! I would like to try one.

Can you believe how big those lemons are? Polly didn’t eat one, but I think she would have liked to. I tried the lemon ice (twice!) and really liked it. It was very refreshing and yummy in the hot weather!

I didn’t actually try a lemon, but I had several lemon slushies and they were very good!
