I just recently got back from a quick trip to Germany with Pierre. We went there to visit Friedrich dem reisenden Frosch, otherwise known as Polly #40 and Pierre’s mom, Thea. We had a great time! Thea took us to a bread shop one afternoon because she wanted to buy a loaf of Udenhäuser Bauernbrot–one of Pierre’s favorite. Since the bread is baked fresh every day, it’s important to get there first thing in the morning. Unfortunately, we didn’t get there until early afternoon because of all the errands we had to run, and Pierre’s favorite was sold out! He decided to try a new kind–Bergsteigerbrot–and it was fantastic. Germany really does have the best bread in the world, even if you buy it in the afternoon!
