One perfect Painted Lady Butterfly

Fly Away!

"Oh, how beautiful!"

We have been learning about Life Cycles in Mrs. Shickle’s Class.  Of course we started with the life cycle of frogs and we’re still waiting for our tadpoles to grow some legs.  Now we have learned about the life cycle of butterflies, we watched our caterpillars grow and change in crysilis and they should soon hatch into butterflies.  We also have duck eggs that will hatch into ducklings.  We have incubators and a scope so we can see what is happening inside the eggs.  It is so cool to see the black dot move around inside the shell. The dot is the duckling’s eye!  The eggs are due to hatch on the last day of school but we hope it will be sooner.  I’ll keep you posted.

They're starting to hatch! In 3-5 hours I get to meet the new little ducklings!

"Wow! Would you look at that!"

An "egg"cellent view!
