Did you know that you can travel without leaving your classroom? That’s how I felt on February 22nd. It was George Washington’s Birthday and we learned so much about George that I felt like I had been to his home.
Being a frog, I didn’t know much about George, nor what a hero is or what a president does. But now I know what that means, and much more about this very important person! I know that he loved animals, and during his life he owned thirty-six dogs! He also owned two horses named Blueskin and Nelson during the war. Nelson was his favorite because the sounds of the guns in battle didn’t frighten him. He also received animals as gifts from other countries when America won the war. I’m sure we would have been good friends since I am an animal.
We made George Washington tri-corner hats and marched to Yankee Doodle. It was so much fun! Aiden, thanks so much for including me in the parade.

Do You Remember this Song?
I remember singing this song when I was a little girl…
My hat, it has three corners,
Three corners has my hat
And had it not three corners,
It would not be my hat.
Thanks for the great memory Mrs. Shickle and Polly!

Dear Mrs. Shickle,
Polly’s hat looks awesome because it has a green feather. Polly looks good. I think Polly and the kids are having fun.
